Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will officially go offline on April 17, 2026, bringing an end to the mobile battle royale less than two years after its worldwide debut.
In a blog post shared on Monday, Feb. 16, Activision announced that the game’s servers will be permanently shut down this spring. The publisher thanked players for their support and confirmed that Warzone Mobile will remain playable with its existing content until the shutdown date. Once the servers go offline, the game will no longer be accessible in any capacity.
Activision also stressed that community feedback continues to play a key role in shaping the Call of Duty franchise. While Warzone Mobile is winding down, the company reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing seasonal updates and new content for Call of Duty: Mobile, which will remain fully supported.
Why is Warzone Mobile shutting down?
Warzone Mobile launched globally on March 21, 2024, aiming to deliver a true Warzone battle royale experience on mobile devices, complete with cross-progression across PC and console, starting in the Modern Warfare 3 era. While the concept generated strong early interest, the game struggled to maintain momentum among mobile-first players.

Shortly after its release, Warzone Mobile faced persistent issues, including excessive battery drain, performance instability, optimization problems across a wide range of devices, and even the excessive amount of bots. These challenges made it difficult to meet the expectations of players accustomed to more lightweight, mobile-optimized shooters.
I personally ran into these performance issues as well. While playing Warzone Mobile on an iPhone 12 Pro Max, the device would heat up quickly, and the game frequently stuttered even with graphics settings turned down to their lowest in an effort to achieve smoother gameplay.
By May 2025, Activision had effectively halted development on the title, and Warzone Mobile was subsequently removed from app stores.

“While we’re proud of the accomplishment in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile in an authentic way, it unfortunately did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences,” Activision said.
What happens to purchased content?
Activision has clarified that exclusive Warzone Mobile cosmetic items will not transfer to other Call of Duty titles, and no refunds will be offered for previously purchased content. However, players who linked their Activision accounts will retain any shared progression that already exists across supported CoD platforms until the servers shut down.
As Warzone Mobile comes to a close, Activision is shifting its mobile strategy entirely toward COD Mobile, intending to focus on experiences specific for mobile players rather than direct adaptations of console and PC titles.
