Tenable host Warwick Davis explains why Sally Lindsay has replaced him on show

Warwick Davis has shared his thoughts on his Tenable replacement, Sally Lindsay, as he revealed why he has been absent from the ITV quiz show.

The 51-year-old actor has been the host since it first began in 2016 and was even involved in developing the game series with ITV.

The popular show sees five contestants attempt to win up to £125,000 by filling in lists of ten items.

But Warwick has taken a step back from hosting duties, with actress Sally stepping in.

He has revealed his absence has been down to the fact he's working on a secret project.

And he also admitted Sally has been "terrific" as his replacement.

He told the Express : "Sally stepped in and helped out now because I'm working on another project I can't talk about at the moment.

"Sally helped out and stepped in recording half the series.

"It's great because people love Tenable, the very nature of it and it was lovely to know they miss me presenting the show.

“I think Sally did a terrific job, although her puns aren’t quite as bad as mine.”

The TV star also admitted he finds it "very flattering" that fans of the show have been missing him during his absence.

Last year, Warwick revealed he doesn't think he'll ever retire as he loves his job so much, and still has things in the pipeline.

He also confessed he has "ticked off" his bucket list.

He told The Mirror: "I don’t think as an actor you ever really retire. I love what I do. As long as people are still asking me to get in front of the camera I’ll be there.

"I’m working on a few ideas which potentially could go to ITV.

"It could be a really exciting year next year if it all works out. It's kind of hybrid [idea], it’s ‘chat-esque’ shall we say.

"Ultimately, chat show is where I want to be. I've ticked off all the other things on my bucket list and that would be the one that needs to be ticked off."
