Warriors training camp delayed by two positive COVID-19 tests

The Golden State Warriors’ training camp for the upcoming 2020-21 season has been delayed as two of the team’s players have tested positive for COVID-19.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers made the announcement Tuesday, when individual workouts were originally scheduled to take place. Individual workouts now are slated to begin Wednesday. The Warriors were scheduled to begin working out as a team Sunday. Group practices are now expected to begin Monday.

Myers told reporters that the entire Warriors roster was tested for the coronavirus. He did not name the two players who tested positive.

The Warriors open the 2020-21 preseason against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5:30 p.m. PST in San Francisco. The NBA is scheduled to open the 2020-21 regular season on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
