Warriors tie record for most 3-pointers in win over Pelicans

OAKLAND, Calif. _ The Golden State Warriors finished with a 147-140 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday and tied a franchise-record for most 3-pointers in a game (24-of-49). That helped the Warriors overcome a 17-point deficit on the second night of a road-to-home back-to-back.

Stephen Curry scored 41 points, while shooting 11-of-22 from the field and 9-of-17 from 3. He also had 23 third-quarter points on seven 3-pointers out of eight attempts. Kevin Durant (30 points), Klay Thompson (19), Draymond Green (17), Andre Iguodala (13) and Shaun Livingston (13) all posted double figures.

The Warriors' prolific 3-point shooting did not just include the usual suspects in Curry and Thompson (4-of-8). That also extended to Durant (5-of-10) and Green (4-of-7). He buried a 3-pointer to give the Warriors a 139-131 lead with 1:27 left in the game, prompting the Warriors' forward to stare down Pelicans coach and former Warriors assistant Alvin Gentry.

The Warriors also made 24 3's this season in Chicago when Thompson made an NBA record 14 3's.

The Warriors (31-14) cemented a six-game winning streak and will add All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins for Friday's game against the Clippers in Los Angeles. Cousins, who signed with the Warriors at the taxpayer mid-level exception ($5.3 million), has spent nearly the past year rehabbing an injured left Achilles tendon.
