Draymond Green was suspended by the Warriors for Tuesday night's game against Atlanta for "conduct detrimental to the team," one night after an on-court confrontation with Kevin Durant turned uglier in the locker room afterward.
The Warriors announced Green will be suspended without pay for his role in escalating an ugly argument following Golden State's 121-116 overtime loss to the Clippers. Durant loudly confronted Green following Green's final-seconds turnover cost the Warriors a chance for a potential game-winning shot. Durant had visibly called for Green to pass him the ball throughout the final sequence.
Green also challenged Durant about his impending free agency at some point during the confrontation, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
In punishing their All-Star forward, the Warriors decided they wanted Green to "cool off," Charania reported.
General manager Bob Myers will meet with the media before Tuesday's game at Oracle to talk about the suspension.
