Warriors' Stephen Curry out vs. 76ers with 'illness'

After being sidelined for four months with a broken hand, Stephen Curry returned to the Warriors' lineup Thursday night with a vintage, crowd-pleasing 23-point performance.

It created some real buzz around the team with the worst record in the NBA.

"It's on, again," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game with the Raptors.

Well, actually, it's off, again.

That unmistakable Curry buzz will not be in Chase Center Saturday night. Curry is listed as out in the Warriors' official injury report ahead of Golden State's game with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Warriors cited "illness" as the reason for Curry's absence.

It's not yet known what illness Curry has or how long it is expected to keep him out.

Joining Curry on the Warriors' injury report is Draymond Green. The forward practiced Friday _ creating some controversy in his post-practice comments about TNT commentator Charles Barkley _ but will miss his fifth straight game with a knee injury.

Kevon Looney (left hip soreness), Alan Smailagic (right quad contusion), Ky Bowman (right ankle sprain), and the ever-present Klay Thompson (left ACL rehabilitation) joined Curry and Green on the injury report.

Sixers stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons will also miss the nationally televised game.

After Saturday's game, the Warriors will next play Tuesday, when they'll host the Clippers. Thursday, the Nets _ who fired their head coach, Kenny Atkinson Saturday, despite their status as a playoff lock _ will visit Chase Center. Former Warrior, now-Net Kevin Durant, who has been out all season because of his Achilles tendon tear is not expected to be in attendance for that contest.

Now we'll have to wait and see if Curry is.
