It only took Steph Curry six games to earn his first award of the 2020-21 NBA season.
On Monday, the Golden State Warriors point guard was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of The Week for week two of the season.
Starting on Dec. 29 against the Detroit Pistons, Curry led the Warriors to a 2-1 record, averaging 39.7 points on 52.9% shooting from the field with six rebounds, five assists in 35 minutes per contest. Over three games, Curry splashed 17 triples from beyond the arc on 37 attempts (45.9%).

The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player capped off the week with a career-high performance on Sunday. With the Portland Trail Blazers in town, Curry tallied 62 points on 18-of-31 shooting from the field with five rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes. Curry led the Warriors past the Blazers for Golden State’s first win at Chase Center of the 2020-21 season.

Over his 11 seasons in the NBA, Curry has earned the honor of Western Conference Player of the Week 15 times — the most in Warriors franchise history.
