Warriors' Steph Curry joins Tom Brady in deal with cryptocurrency firm, including charity support

Stephen Curry and Tom Brady are together again, this time in endorsing the cryptocurrency exchange firm FTX.

Brady, who can be seen most days on television commercials with Curry hawking Subway sandwiches, was joined by the Golden State Warriors guard as an "ambassador" with the announcement Tuesday of a long-term partnership.

"I'm excited to partner with a company that demystifies the crypto space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users," Curry said in a press release. "FTX is likeminded when it comes to giving back to the community in meaningful ways and I can't wait to see what we can achieve together."

Curry, Brady and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence have all joined forces with FTX, which touts itself as "the fastest growing and most trusted place to buy, sell and trade Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and other digital assets." As a "global ambassador," Curry will be involved in touting the viability of cryptocurrency to new audiences.

Curry and FTX announced the partnership with a Tuesday morning.

The company announced Curry will receive an equity stake in FTX Trading Limited. Stephen and Ayesha Curry's foundation, Eat.Learn.Play., will partner with FTX on charitable initiatives, but the firm did not release specifics of that partnership Tuesday.

The foundation started by the Currys promotes fighting childhood hunger, access to quality education and providing safe places for children to play and be active. Eat.Learn.Play. has been responsible for serving over 17 million nutritious meals to Oakland kids and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the release.

Cryptocurrencies, which can be used to buy goods and services or be traded for a profit digitally.
