Warriors’ Steph Curry, Draymond Green out Thursday vs. Suns

Golden State guard Stephen Curry and forward Draymond Green will miss Thursday night’s game in Phoenix, the Warriors’ final game before the All-Star break, according to a team source.

Neither made the trip with the team to Phoenix, as Curry will get some rest before traveling to Atlanta Saturday to participate in Sunday’s All-Star Game and Green will nurse a sore left ankle. Green left during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Lakers with a sprained left ankle, but played in Wednesday’s loss in Portland.

This could result in guards Nico Mannion and Jordan Poole seeing playing time against the Suns in the Warriors’ second game of a back-to-back set. Both were called up from the G League on Monday, signaling that Curry and Green taking Thursday off could have been a decision made earlier in the week.

Curry is in the midst of an All-Star season, averaging 29.7 points on 47.8% shooting (41.1% from 3-point range), 5.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists. Green, among the league leaders in assists, is averaging 5.7 points on 39.1% shooting, 6.1 rebounds and 8.6 assists.
