Warriors sign rookie Lester Quinones to two-way contract

While building their roster during the free agency phase of the offseason, the Golden State Warriors filled one of their two-way contract slots. While Summer League action is heating up at Chase Center for the California Classic, the Warriors signed rookie guard Lester Quinones to a two-way contract.

The 21-year-old guard played three seasons at Memphis before going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft.

During his time with Penny Hardaway and the Tigers, Quinones averaged 10.1 points on 42.9% shooting from the field and 36.9% shooting from beyond the arc, with 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest.

In his final season at Memphis, the 6-foot-5 guard started 30 games, averaging 10.0 points on 44.9% shooting from the floor with 3.5 boards, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 27.2 minutes per game. Against UCF in the AAC Conference Tournament, Quinones dropped a season-high 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field with five triples, two boards and a steal.

In a recent appearance at the Summer League against the Los Angeles Lakers, Quinones tallied a game-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor with three triples and five boards in 25 minutes at Chase Center in the California Classic.

In the past, the Warriors have had success with the development of two-way contract players like Damion Lee, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Quinn Cook and Marquese Chriss.
