Warriors select Moses Moody with No. 14 pick in 2021 NBA draft

After landing Jonathan Kuminga with the No. 7 selection in the 2021 NBA draft, the Golden State Warriors added Moses Moody out of Arkansas with the No. 14 pick.

Moody is a crafty scorer, tallying 16.8 points on 42.7 shooting from the floor for Eric Musselman’s Razorbacks. The 6-foot-6 guard has a slick jumper, shooting 35.8% shooting from the floor on 5.1 attempts from long distance per game.

Along with his silky scoring repertoire, Moody added 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, one steal and 0.7 blocks per contest.

On the way to helping push Arkansas to the Elite 8 in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, Moody earned First Team All-SEC honors and the SEC Freshman of the Year award. Moody was also named an AP Honorable Mention All-American.

After selecting a player with immense upside at No. 7 with Kuminga, Moody’s scoring ability and defensive potential should help him get on the floor behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. The addition of Moody alongside Jordan Poole gives Steve Kerr an exciting young tandem in Golden State’s second unit.

Barring a trade, the pair of Kuminga and Moody should headline Golden State’s 2021 draft class.
