OAKLAND, Calif. _ Stephen Curry may not win a third straight NBA MVP award this season, but he is starting to kick it into another competitive stratosphere as the playoffs draw closer.
Curry scored 42 points, including 15 in an electric third quarter, and also dished eight assists as the Warriors won their 11th straight game, 139-115 over the Washington Wizards at Oracle Arena.
Curry hit 15 of 22 shots, including 9 of 14 from beyond the 3-point arc, as the Warriors gradually built their lead to 22 points in the third quarter and then coasted home to run their record to 63-14. Klay Thompson added 23 points and Draymond Green posted a triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists.
Curry scored 22 of his points in the first half, hitting 6 of 9 3-point attempts. But it was the bench performance led by Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala that was primarily responsible for the Warriors opening up a 67-57 lead at the break. Livingston made 5 of 7 shots and Iguodala 3 of 4 as Golden State's reserve cast outscored the Wizards' second unit 28-11.
Livingston finished the game with a season-high 17 points and also grabbed seven rebounds. Bradley Beal and Bojan Bogdanovic shared scoring honors for Washington with 20 points apiece.
The Warriors shot 56.2 percent from the floor in the game (50 of 89) and made 16 of 36 3-pointers.
The Wizards were the only team in the NBA the Warriors had not beaten. With the victory, they finished their regular-season slate against the Eastern Conference at 25-5, including 14-1 at Oracle Arena.
