Before Wednesday’s presidential inauguration in Washington D.C., the Warriors honored Oakland’s Kamala Harris, now the 49th Vice President of the United States, in an inspirational video shared on Instagram.
Warriors star Steph Curry signed a special-edition No. 49 “Madame VP” jersey that was framed and sent to Harris, and she says she plans to hang the jersey in her office.
“Oh, this means so much to me you guys,” Harris said in a video message to the Warriors. I will proudly, proudly display this in the office of the Vice President of the United States, an office I am about to occupy. And I cannot thank you enough, and you always bring such joy and pride to me, as a daughter of Oakland.”
