Warriors release all-access video of rookies’ first day with team

The Golden State Warriors selected three players in the 2019 NBA Draft, and on Sunday they gave fans a glimpse at the rookies’ personalities.

The Warriors released an all-access video via Twitter that featured Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall and Alen Smailagic. The video was shot at Rakuten Performance Center, the Warriors’ old practice facility, and it followed the three rookies during their first day with the Warriors.

At the start of the video, the rookies talked about how draft day went for them. Poole said during the morning of the draft day that he told his parents he had a feeling he was headed to the Warriors.

Last season Smailagic played for the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Warriors’ G League affiliate. Smailagic said he was watching the draft back home in Serbia. Paschall said he was back in his hometown of Dobbs Ferry, New York.

In the middle of the video, Poole and Paschall complimented — and joked — with each other about their suits.

“He got the tie, he got the nice tie,” Poole said of Paschall.

Paschall mentioned Poole’s sweater and glasses. As the video nears its end, Smailagic discussed how his jersey number selection went.

“I wanted the number nine, but I chose the number six, so when I turn it upside down, it’s nine,” Smailagic joked.

At the end of the video, Warriors general manager Bob Myers encouraged the rookies and spoke about how they can make the most of their futures in the NBA.

“Congratulations to you three guys, this is the beginning of hopefully a long career,” Myers said. “We’ll give you every chance to meet all your goals and expectations, but most of it is gonna be because of the work you put in.”
