Warriors recall James Wiseman and rookie Ryan Rollins from G League Santa Cruz

With Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry dealing with injuries, the Golden State Warriors are calling in reinforcements from the G League. After announcing an update on Curry’s shoulder injury, the Warriors recalled a pair of players from G League Santa Cruz.

Before the Warriors continue their six-game road trip with a contest against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, James Wiseman and rookie Ryan Rollins will join the Warriors from G League Santa Cruz.

Wiseman has played 10 games in the G League. He was recently recalled by the Warriors for one game against the Boston Celtics. Wiseman played five minutes before returning back to the G League for a three game stint.

Since returning to the G League, Wiseman has scored 24 or more points in every game, including a pair of contests with double-double performances. In a loss to the South Bay Lakers on Wednesday, the former No. 2 overall pick tallied 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field with six boards and a block in 34 minutes.

Rollins will join Golden State’s shorthanded backcourt after an impressive G League stint. Rollins recently recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals last week against the South Bay Lakers.

With Golden State’s injuries and four games left on their road swing, both prospects could have a chance to crack Steve Kerr’s rotation.

The Warriors are set to meet the Sixers on Friday evening at 4:30 p.m. PT.
