Warriors News: Kevon Looney’s MRI revealed a strain, listed as day-to-day

Kevon Looney sat out of the Warriors 120-117 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday Night with right pelvic soreness. It’s not clear what the cause of Looney’s injury was, but he did sit out a significant amount of time in the Warriors loss to the Orlando Magic on Thursday night — a game many expected him to receive plenty of minutes in, even with DeMarcus Cousins back in the lineup.

Looney had an MRI on the right pelvic area and the results came back showing a strain in the area. Looney is officially listed as day-to-day because of the injury, according to Shams Charania.

While there is never a good time for injuries, Looney’s is coming at a time in which Jordan Bell is starting to find a groove in the limited minutes that he’s received. Should this become one of those nagging injuries that take a bit longer than expected to recover from, Andrew Bogut’s return to the team is imminent.

Looney is averaging 6.2 points and 5.7 rebounds in just under 20 minutes per game on the season.
