Warriors News: DeMarcus Cousins is on board with the Andrew Bogut signing

With the Warriors recently signing center Andrew Bogut, one might think that DeMarcus Cousins might be unhappy with Bob Meyers signing the former number one overall pick and NBA Champion. Cousins has been clamoring for more playing time, and Bogut has the potential to cut into that time.

Cousins, while showing flashes, is obviously still getting back into shape. Bogut obviously has familiarity with Steve Kerr’s system, and seems to offer more defensive prowess and mobility than Cousins. So what was Cousins’ reaction to the signing according to head coach Steve Kerr, via NBC Sports Bay Area?

“He was all for it,” Steve Kerr said on 95.7 The Game on Thursday evening. “He’s played against Bogues (Bogut). He knows what a great defender he is. He knows that in the playoffs you need as much fortification as you can get. And we were a little vulnerable.

Kerr mentioned that the discussions of signing Bogut started even before Cousins returned to the court, as the Warriors were looking for an insurance policy. Kerr believes that the combination of the two will help the team a lot, having the talent of Cousins with a great insurance policy in Bogut.
