Warriors join Bay Area group to donate 50,000 face masks and bandanas to healthcare providers

Although there hasn’t been a basketball game in the Bay Area since March 10, the Golden State Warriors have been busy. While the league is on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Stephen Curry and the Warriors organization has been active in the fight against the rampant virus.

Players coaches and the ownership group of the Warriors have pledged funds towards the Chase Center disaster relief program. For their next donation, the Warriors teamed up with NBC Sports Bay Area and professional sports teams around the Bay Area.

The San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A’s, San Jose Sharks, San Jose Earthquakes, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors have linked up with NBC Sports Bay Area and Fanatics to donate 50,000 face coverings to healthcare providers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NBC Sports Bay Area and the teams collected 10,000 t-shirts for donation. The San Francisco-based company Timbuk2 will convert the shirts into bandanas and face masks.

According to the Warriors, the masks and bandanas will be donated to UCSF, Bay Area Community Services and “other groups in need.”
