Warriors G League affiliate, Santa Cruz Warriors, win Pacific Division title

The Golden State Warriors’ success has carried over to the G-League. The Santa Cruz Warriors, the team’s G League affiliate, clinched a Pacific Division title last night by defeating the Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards) 120-116.

This improved the team’s record to 32-16 on the season. Santa Cruz was led by 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists from two-way player Damion Lee and 18 points off the bench from Kendrick Nunn. Marcus Derrickson and Michael Gbinije also contributed 17 and 15 points respectively. For the Go-Go, Jordan McRae had 32 points and Tyler Lydon chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Golden State has used its G League team extremely effectively throughout its existence. Players such as Quinn Cook, Damian Jones, Kevon Looney, Jordan Bell, Jacob Evans have seen playing time in Santa Cruz in addition to the two-way players, Lee and Derrickson. After winning the G-League title in 2015, Santa Cruz looks to add to their trophy collection as they also gear up for their postseason run.
