SAN ANTONIO _ Kevin Durant got an official re-evaluation on his left knee on Wednesday in San Antonio and the news was generally positive.
Durant hasn't experienced any setbacks in his rehab and will continue to increase his activity level. But he will not return to game action this week, as the team said they will re-evaluate him again in 7-10 days.
"Kevin has made very good progress since suffering the injury four weeks ago in Washington," the Warriors' statement read. "He has not experienced any setbacks to date and has progressed as well as could be expected. At this point, he is being incorporated into non-contact basketball drills _ shooting, running and jumping _ and the plan is to intensify his level of movement over the next several days, which will include more explosive cutting and lateral maneuvers. His eventual return to contact drills and practice will be predicated upon his progress to the increased intensity of his workouts and a return to game action prior to the end of the regular season remains a possibility."
Though this is the first official statement from the Warriors since Durant's injury, his progress over the past month has been clear. Durant went from crutching around in a knee brace to chair shots to set shots to on-the-move dribble moves in a four-week span. He has been dunking of late in his pregame and post-practice workouts, even jumping off that left knee.
But the Warriors are bringing Durant along cautiously, knowing more than two weeks still remain until the playoffs.
"He's coming along amazing," Draymond Green said. "I saw him working out earlier and I got excited. He looks like he's coming along. Obviously his spirits are high and he's starting to move a lot better, starting to jump a lot better."
