Warriors Draymond Green (knee contusion) out vs. Timberwolves on Sunday

For the second consecutive game, the Golden State Warriors will be without a trio of All-Star caliber players. Draymond Green is set to miss his second game in a row due to a knee contusion. Green will miss Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves along with Steph Curry (lower leg) and Andrew Wiggins (personal).

According to Steve Kerr, Green’s knee injury suffered a setback on Sunday. After missing two games, Golden State’s defensive centerpiece could need an MRI.

Along with captaining Golden State’s defense, Green is averaging 8.1 points on 51.7% shooting from the field with 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 31.5 minutes per game during the 2022-23 season.

With three starters out, Kerr and the Warriors could lean on players like Donte DiVincenzo, Jonathan Kuminga and Kevon Looney in the starting lineup against the Timberwolves on Sunday. With Curry, Wiggins and Green out against the Houston Rockets on Friday, DiVincenzo, Kuminga and Looney joined the starting lineup alongside Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole.

With Green out, rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. could be involved in Golden State’s rotation off the bench. Baldwin Jr. is coming off back-to-back games with double-figure scoring numbers.

The Warriors are set to meet the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. PT on Sunday.
