WASHINGTON _ The Warriors finished with a 126-118 victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday for a simple reason. The Warriors' five All-Stars have looked more and more like their dominant selves.
The Warriors featured Stephen Curry (38 points), Kevin Durant (21) and DeMarcus Cousins (17). Draymond Green recorded seven points, a season-high 15 rebounds and seven assists. Klay Thompson added 9 points albeit on 4-of-13 shooting
Curry logged his fourth 30-point game in the past six appearances, including his 19th of the season. Cousins shed more rust in his third game since rehabbing his left Achilles tendon for nearly the past year.
The Warriors (34-14) cemented a season-high ninth consecutive win against a Wizards team (20-27) that has missed star point guard John Wall because of season-ending surgery on his left heel. The Warriors also recorded 34 assists, marking the fifth consecutive game they have logged at least 30 assists.
The Wizards still stayed within striking distance, cutting the Warriors' lead to 108-106 with 7:41 remaining after opening the fourth quarter with a 16-2 run. But the Warriors then answered with six unanswered points for a 114-106 cushion and prompted the Wizards to call timeout with 5:57 remaining.
The Warriors have two more games in their five-game trip with stops against the Boston Celtics (Saturday) and Indiana Pacers (Monday).
