Warriors could be without all 5 regular starters against Memphis

The Golden State Warriors have locked up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and really have nothing to play for in their final game of the regular season.

Win or lose, the Warriors won’t know who they’ll play in the first round until all of the games end. With Steph Curry going down with a mild foot sprain in the team’s 112-103 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, it appears as if the team is going to take pretty much every precaution to ensure that the team is as healthy as possible heading into the postseason.

According to The Mercury News’ Mark Medina, DeMarcus Cousins, Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Shaun Livingston are officially out for tonight’s game against the Grizzlies. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are listed as questionable, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they’re listed as out before game time.

Even if Durant and Thompson suit up, it’s reasonable to expect head coach Steve Kerr to take the same approach with them as he did with Draymond Green on Tuesday night and play them fewer than 20 minutes.

The time off for the starters is giving some of the younger guys some minutes heading into the postseason. Quinn Cook has been playing well as of late while Damion Lee had a nice night on Tuesday with 20 points off the bench.

It’s the time of year in which you want everyone to be in sync and healthy, and it looks like the Warriors are in a good place heading into the postseason.
