INDIANAPOLIS _ Stephen Curry hoisted a shot from 33 feet and already knew it was going in before it did. Klay Thompson threw down a hammer dunk, causing Curry to fall out of his seat on the bench. Kevin Durant also made turnaround jumpers effortlessly.
These varying snapshots all illustrated various reasons why the Warriors remained dominant in their 132-100 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday. It also captured why the Warriors (36-14) have won 11 consecutive games and went undefeated on their five-game trip.
To think, Warriors coach Steve Kerr had some concerns beforehand that the Warriors might have a letdown game against a Pacers team (32-17) without Victor Oladipo (season-ending right knee injury) on the last game of an 11-day trip.
After all, the Warriors lost to the Pacers last season, a 126-106 loss on April 5, 2018 that Kerr called "an embarrassing and a pathetic effort." Against the Pacers this season? Different story.
Curry had 26 points while going 10-of-13 from the field and 6-of-8 from 3, which coincided with setting an NBA record for making at least 200 3's for seven consecutive seasons. DeMarcus Cousins (22), Durant (16), Kevon Looney (a career-high 15 points, five rebounds) and Thompson (16) all cracked double figures. And the Warriors held the Pacers to a 42.6 percent clip.
The Warriors return for a home friendly schedule this week against Philadelphia (Thursday) and the Los Angeles Lakers (Saturday).
