With COVID-19 numbers spiking across the NBA, a number of players around the association are entering the league’s health and safety protocol.
Jordan Poole entered the league’s protocol on Friday, causing him to miss the final two games of the Golden State Warriors’ road trip against the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors.
With another member of the Warriors entering the protocol, Poole will have company.
On the NBA’s latest injury report issued on Sunday, Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is listed as out for a contest against the Sacramento Kings on Monday at San Francisco’s Chase Center due to the league’s health and safety protocol.
During the 2021-22 campaign, Wiggins is averaging 18.7 points on 49.1% shooting from the field with 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 31.1 minutes per game. Wiggins has started 29 of Golden State’s 30 games on the season.
Prior to meeting the Warriors on Monday, the Kings are also dealing with several players in the health and safety protocol. For the Kings’ matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, six players were ruled out for Sacramento due to protocol, including De’Aaron Fox and 2021 first-round pick Davion Mitchell.
With Wiggins out against the Kings, Jonathan Kuminga, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Otto Porter Jr. could be in line for increased minutes in Golden State’s rotation.
The Warriors are set to meet the Kings at Chase Center on Monday at 7 p.m. PT.
