'Warrior princess' Kiara, 7, loses cancer fight days after Zendaya makes dying wish come true

The family of a seven-year-old Glasgow girl have paid tribute to their "warrior princess'" after she lost her brave battle with brain cancer.

Little Kiara Buonomo passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning, just over a year after she was diagnosed with the devastating illness.

A fundraising page set up on Facebook by her dad Aldo to raise money to cover the funeral costs revealed the sad news.

Zendaya makes brave tot Kiara's dream come true with heartbreaking video message

He posted: "We are sorry to be the bearers of sad news, but our beautiful princess Kiara Buonomo passed away through the night (Sunday), around 3:30am.

"She passed peacefully, with dignity and remained as beautiful as ever.

"The family are very saddened and not accepting any sympathy calls and messages at the moment.

"I hope heaven is prepared for the arrival of a warrior princess.
"Tough and stubborn as old boots, strong as an ox, and the heart of a lion
"She was the true definition of a warrior and fought the hardest battle for the longest length of time."

Kiara's death comes just days after her dying wish came true when she received a message from Disney actress Zendaya.

Earlier this month dad Aldo uploaded a video online showing the brave seven-year-old Glasgow schoolgirl singing along with Zendaya to her favourite song Wonderful Life.

The Greatest Showman actress responded with a special video message just for her.

Scots comedian slams 'vile' and 'unthinkable' online abuse of cancer stricken girl and steps in to help

In the message shared by Aldo on Twitter, Zendaya offers Kiara a 'virtual hug' and praises the youngster for her singing abilities.

"I saw a video of you singing along to Smallfoot and you sounded beautiful," said Zendaya.

"I just wanted to say hello and send you my love and hope you are doing amazing."

She added: "Hopefully one day I will be able to meet you in real life."

The A-list actress then ended the video by offering a 'virtual hug' and blowing kisses to the camera.

Kiara Buonomo is suffering from terminal stage 4 brain cancer (Daily Record)

Little Kiara was diagnosed with brain cancer in January last year and despite undergoing a brain operation to clear away most of the cancer, doctors told her family there is nothing more they can do.

Last month we reported that Kiara’s family had been targeted with cruel messages by a vicious troll.

Mum Natasha, 30, said the hate-filled messages were destroying her and her family.

She said: “It’s sickened us. We have enough to think about without the extra stress of this.”

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos later wrote a heartwarming letter to Kiara after hearing about her family being targeted by the vile online hate.

The funeral fundraising page smashed its £3000 target within hours.

He added: "Let's try to raise as much as we possibly can to help the family give this warrior princess the send of she deserves.
"She fought for us, now let's fight for her."
