Warren Feeney to Waterford? Former Linfield boss linked with League of Ireland club

Former Linfield boss Warren Feeney is being linked with League of Ireland club Waterford.

It has emerged that the SSE Airtricity Premier Division outfit are interested in Feeney replacing the recently departed John Sheridan.

Feeney is currently manager of Bulgarian Second Division side OFC Pirin Blagoevgrad.

He took up that role in November 2019 after a short spell with Irish League club Ards.

Since leaving Linfield in 2015, the 39-year-old was assistant manager and then manager at Newport County before taking up backroom roles at Crawley Town and Notts County.

He returned to Northern Ireland in February 2019 to manage Ards, and despite the club being relegated Feeney signed a new two-year deal in May.

Feeney then joined FC Pirin in November that year following a recommendation by an former teammate who was assisting the side in their recruitment process.

Pirin currently lie sixth in the Second Division with three wins and a draw from their opening six games. They trail Lokomotiv Sofia by six points.
