Warrant out for former Thai PM who failed to show in court

A court in Thailand has issued an arrest warrant for former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, after she failed to turn up to hear a verdict against her.

Her lawyer says she is sick.

She is accused of negligence of duty in relation to a rice subsidy scheme that cost $15 billion.

Another court hearing has been scheduled for September 27.

More to come.
