Experts have warned that it is possible to catch two strains of Covid at the same time after a woman died with Covid when she contracted two variants.
A 90-year-old woman became ill with both the Alpha and Beta types - also known as the Kent and South African variants.
The woman, who died in March this year in Belgium, had not been vaccinated.
She may have caught the infections from two different people.
The case is being discussed at this year's European Congress on Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases.
Her case is thought to be very rare.
