Warning to residents after spate of break-ins via patio doors

Police have issued a warning to residents in South Gloucestershire following a spate of break-ins via patio doors.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary is warning people to report any individuals acting suspiciously and ensure their doors are secure.

A total of five burglaries in properties across both Patchway and Bradley Stoke have occurred between October 30 and November 8.

All of the incidents happened during the day and involved criminals targeting rear patio doors by smashing glass door windows and forcing the doors with an implement.

Front doors have also been targeted in some of the properties.

Police says there's currently no identified suspects but investigations are ongoing.

Members of the public are asked to remain vigilant and to get in touch if they have any information which can help with the investigation.

South Gloucestershire acting neighbourhood inspector, Adrian Fallows, said: “We take burglary very seriously and are committed to identifying and apprehending the individuals responsible.

“This latest spate of burglaries have happened in the daylight. We ask those residents who are at home during the day to keep a watchful eye on their neighbour’s properties and get in touch with the police if they spot any individuals acting suspiciously.

“We are continuing to work hard to reduce the number of burglaries in Avon and Somerset and encourage residents in South Gloucestershire to take note of our burglary prevention advice to make their properties as secure as possible.”

Police have issued the following advice:

Anyone with information which can help officers with this investigation is asked to call 101 quoting 5219261795 or they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.

No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.
