Warning to parents after pervert exposes himself to kids in Cardiff park as they walk home from school

Parents are being warned after a man exposed himself to a group of schoolchildren in a Cardiff park as they walked home from school.

Police are investigating an "isolated" report of indecent exposure at Cae Delyn Park, Rhiwbina.

A group of school pupils reported being approached by a man as they walked through the area, which is a route between Whitchurch and Rhiwbina, between 3.15pm and 3.30pm pm on Wednesday, February 26.

The man is described as white, around 6ft tall, of large build, with short black, messy hair. He was wearing a white buttoned shirt, black suit trousers and possibly a black suit jacket.

Police are providing extra patrols in the area and officers are visiting local schools to raise awareness and provide crime prevention inputs.

Parents at Whitchurch High School and Whitchurch Primary have been told to be aware of the incident.

Sergeant Rob Elmer said: “I appreciate the incident will have caused concern locally, especially given the proximity to local schools, however I would urge people not to panic and rather to remain vigilant.

“Please report any suspicious behaviour, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to us so that we can fully investigate.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Schools have urged pupils to walk home with someone saying: "Should any strangers approach you must report this to your parents and police and ensure to go to a place of safety.”
