Warning to locals after people with coronavirus visited Port Talbot coffee shop

Visitors to a coffee shop have been told to be aware of Covid-19 symptoms after some customers have tested positive for the virus.

According to the Neath Port Talbot Council, "a number of people with Covid-19" visited Selections Coffee Shop in Station Road, Port Talbot on December 5 and 6.

The authority's Test Trace Protect (TTP) service is urging anyone who visited Selections during this time and is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 to self isolate and book a test.

Symptoms include loss of smell or taste, a new and continuous cough or a high temperature.

The council advises that anyone who went to Selections during this time but is not experiencing symptoms does not need to book a test or self isolate. Such people only need to isolate if they are told to do so by the relevant officials.

If you are symptomatic and receive a positive test result you should self-isolate and remain at home for at least ten days.

Anyone in your household should also self-isolate for 10 days as well as people you have been in contact with, even if they feel well or receive a negative test.

Tests can be booked online at: https://sbhub.nhs.wales

Alternatively, people can call 01639 862757.
