Warning to homeowners after spate of break-ins across East Lothian

Police are urging residents in East Lothian to make sure their homes are secure after a spate of break-ins in the area.

Most recently, a quantity of cash was stolen during a slip-in theft at a property on Stoneyhill Court in Musselburgh overnight between Sunday (19 May) and Monday (20 May).

In a statement, police warned there have been "a number of thefts across East Lothian and in the Musselburgh and Prestonpans areas in particular".

Adding that officers would like to remind homeowners of the "importance" of ensuring that their properties are secure - in order to prevent similar crimes.
