Warning to Glasgow dog owners after attempts made to steal pets from homes

A veterinary clinic in a Glasgow suburb has warned dog owners after a number of attempts have been made to steal pets from their homes.

Glenbrae Veterinary Clinic in Bearsden delivered the warning on their Facebook page.

The clinic have said that two women and two men are knocking on residents' doors, pretending to work for an energy company in order to scope out the dogs living in each home.

The statement from Glenbrae Veterinary Clinic reads: "This is a warning to all of our clients, we have seen from previous posts in Milton of Campsie, Lennoxtown and even Milngavie.

"There is two women and two men pretending to be working for gas and electricity company’s. They are then putting cable ties on the lamp post beside the house so they know these people have dogs so they can go back and steal them.

"This is a very concerning matter please make your friends and family aware."
