Warning to dog owners after meat stuffed with 'rat poison' found at Wirral beauty spot

A woman has warned people to look out for meat stuffed with rat poison after her dog nearly ate it.

Posting publicly on Facebook to alert others, she said she made the discovery in West Kirby.

She said: "Hi, just a little warning for people taking their dogs to West Kirby, by Cubbins Green.

"My little terrier, Biscuit, found a chunk of meat that had been planted in a bush, it was about 10 inches long, fresh meat with what looked like blue rat poison pellets attached to it.

"I managed to get it off her before she dug into it.

"Please be careful as this is a regular beauty spot that lots of people take their dogs and children to."

People were shocked by the warning commenting how horrible and cruel it was and many wanted to check Biscuit was OK.

One said: "Some real sick Individuals about."

Another said: "I would love to know what the hell they get out of doing this or the reason why they do things like this.

"I found sausages with nails embedded in a couple of years back it’s been going on for too long."

A third added: "Thank god you got to it first. What is wrong with people. I’d be heartbroken if my girl ate that. So much good in the world but they're a good few evil ones too. Scary."

Merseyside Police was approached for comment.
