Warning over Ikea bibs which could be choking hazard

Parents are being urged not to use baby bibs which have been sold by Ikea in their thousands amid fears they could prove to be a choking hazard.

Anyone who bought one of the bibs is asked to return it to their nearest store for a full refund after it was reported buttons on the bib could become loose.

Affected bibs are part of Ikea's MATRVA range and come in a two-pack.

One is a blue bib with green lining around the edge and one is a red bib with yellow lining.

They have a product article number of 504.269.20, reports BirminghamLive.

The bibs were sold both in-store and online during August for £2.50.

3,796 were sold in the UK, the chain has also added.

For more information, you can contact Ikea on 0203 645 0010.

In a statement on its website it said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."

Ikea says everybody returning the item will be given a full refund - and you don't need proof of purchase.
