Warning over fly-tipping as large amount of rubbish dumped by roadside

A Nottinghamshire council has urged people to dispose of their waste properly after discovering a large fly tip dumped by a roadside.

Newark and Sherwood District Council has now issued images of the incident in Brake Road, Boughton, after it was reported on Monday, August 30.

The authority says it takes fly-tipping "extremely seriously" and is appealing for anyone with any information on who may have dumped the waste to get in touch.

A spokesperson for Newark and Sherwood District Council said: "We found no names or addresses amongst the waste, but we found a box with product reference numbers.

"Our Environmental Enforcement team is contacting the company whose details are on the box to track who purchased it and the products it contains.

"If you have any information regarding the fly-tip please let us know by calling customer services on 01636 650000 or emailing us at customerservices@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk

"We take fly-tipping extremely seriously and expect everyone to dispose of their rubbish."
