Warning over early cancer symptoms that strike when you first wake up

A medical expert has shared telltale signs of cancer that people must be aware of to ensure an early diagnosis and treatment.

Abbas Kanani, a pharmacist at Chemist Click, has advised that the way you wake up in the morning could be a major red flag.

The pharmacist says that any bodily changes 'out of the ordinary' from your normal morning routine should be investigated by a GP as soon as possible.

Concerns should particularly be raised if you continue to wake up with a sore throat that has persisted for more than two weeks.

If there are no signs of improvement then this may an early sign of cancer - and there should be similar concerns for a persistent cough, especially if you smoke, Mr Kanani has claimed.

He told the Express: “Smokers often wake up with a cough in the morning. However, a persistent cough for longer than two weeks should be checked out. Especially if you smoke.”

Another concerning symptom that you may experience in the morning is fatigue - which could be particularly worrying if it is accompanied by other symptoms.

“It’s normal to feel a little tired in the morning, but this is not usual for you, or you are noticing fatigue lasting throughout the day, you should get this checked out”, Mr Kanani added.

“If you wake up in the morning and the bed is wet or damp from sweat, this indicated that you could have been experiencing night sweats.

“Get this checked out with your GP, especially if night sweats are accompanied by fatigue weight loss or bruising.”
