Warning issued to people who have already had Covid after poll finds people feel 'invincible'

A warning has been issued to individuals who have already had Covid.

The statement comes many people who previously contracted the virus are said to be feeling 'invincible' after a study found that people think they can't get it again - something the NHS states is actually possible.

One famous face that has tested positive twice is Prince Charles - once back in March 2020 and again just this month.

On February 10, the Royals announced: "This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.

"HRH is deeply disappointed not to be able to attend today's events in Winchester and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible."

It is not understood if the Queen has covid with reports suggesting Charles met with her just two days before testing positive.

In the poll commissioned by Medicspot, a government-recognised Covid test provider, two thousand adults who have had the virus found 54% felt a new lease of life once they were fully recovered, reports WalesOnline.

In addition, three in 10 said their attitude changed towards the way they feel about certain rules - with 13% admitting they were happy to attend crowded places without feeling anxious.

Despite a quarter believing once you've had Covid you can no longer get it or any variation of it, 38% are no longer worried about testing positive again with a further 45% also say being vaccinated has contributed to making them feel less vulnerable.

A spokesperson for Medicspot said: "It’s important to remember that catching Covid does not mean that you can’t get it again.

"The level of protection from natural immunity may vary from natural immunity depending on how mild or severe the illness was.

"Getting a Covid-19 vaccine after you recover from infection has been shown to provide added protection to your immune system."

The NHS states: "If you get symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) again, self-isolate immediately and get a PCR test (test that is sent to a lab), even if the symptoms are mild."

The symptoms are:

  • A high temperature
  • A new, continuous cough
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
