Warning issued to Glasgow dog walkers after sausages laced with fish hooks dumped in street

A warning has been issued to dog owners after sausages laced with sharp fish hooks were found on the ground in Glasgow.

A man was spotted leaving the sausages on a street in the Knightswood area.

The food, bound in wire with the sharp spikes sticking out of them, was found in Cowdenhill Road on Tuesday morning.

The items were found on Cowdenhill Road after a man was seen throwing them (Dawn McIntosh)

A local resident Dawn McIntosh shared photos on Twitter and said her son spotted a man "throwing something on the ground and hurrying away."

She also issued a Facebook warning to others stating: “Cowdenhill Road, Knightswood this morning... my son spotted a guy throwing something.. went to investigate.. please warn all animal owners!! The police have been notified.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
