A warning has been issued to anyone using the click and collect service from Smyths because their bag is clear.
Sarah Breen posted on Twitter: "Warning to anyone using the click and collect service from Smyths - they put everything in a clear bag. I repeat, the bag is CLEAR.
She added: "Smyths usually package their deliveries in a plain box unless it’s like a slide or something and it comes in the original packaging."
One person responded to her tweet and said: "Got a Smyths delivery last week. Delivery guy knocked at the door, and asked to check that there were no small people about, before even getting the box out of the van at all - plain brown box with no markings. Very impressed."
Another added: "This should be national news.
"The bike I bought for one of mine arrived...with a big bike on the side of the box.
"With a wink and a very smart delivery man we both agreed he had the wrong address..as my kid stood witness. Met him later."
One posted a pic of an Amazon order: "Okay, I feel like I should also do a public service announcement as someone who works in toys and with Amazon. A LOT of your Christmas gifts will come in their own packaging, keep your eyes peeled for this warning."
Another was impressed with the Smyth's delivery discretion: "I got a delivery from Smyth’s and the delivery driver was brilliant.
"Knocked first to check it was ‘safe’ for him to deliver and then brought everything in well covered up. I was really impressed at his thoughtfulness. "
