Warning issued by council after social club visitor tests positive for coronavirus

Neath Port Talbot Council is contacting people who attended a social club last weekend after someone tested positive for coronavirus.

The council's test and trace service said the person attended Glynneath Social Club on Saturday, September 26.

The council said it is making contact with anyone recorded to have been at the club on that date and says visitors should be aware of the main coronavirus symptoms, which are loss of taste or smell, a new and continuous cough and a high temperature.

A spokesman for the council said: "Anyone with coronavirus symptoms must stay at home and get a test, their household members must also stay at home.

"Doing this will help prevent the spread of the virus to family, friends, colleagues and the wider community. Only those displaying symptoms should book a test.

"Neath Port Talbot Council’s test, trace and protect service are making contact with anyone who recorded a visit on that date on the track and trace records at the club, to provide appropriate advice.

"We would also remind everyone of the Welsh Government restrictions as they currently apply to Neath Port Talbot.

"You can only meet socially indoors with people who you live with - this must be limited to six people - not including any children aged under 11.

"This applies in places like pubs and restaurants as well as in people’s homes."
