Warning for Tottenham and Liverpool supporters about Madrid scams as UEFA release statement

Madrid Police have issued a warning to both Spurs and Liverpool supporters stating that gangs are conspiring to steal tickets for tonight's Champions League final by posing as fake stewards.

Thousands of fans are in the Spanish capital at present with many still hoping to pick up a ticket for the huge clash at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

With UEFA previously urging fans not to buy tickets on the black market, the local police have now claimed that fake steward bibs, ticket scanners and false accreditation have all been seized in the plot to steal tickets from supporters.

Fans are asked to only show their tickets at clearly marked check zones outside the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

"The Spanish police has seized fake steward bibs, fake devices for the technical ticket check, as well as fake accreditation," a UEFA statement said.

"This makes us believe that an organised group of people, impersonating genuine stewards or officials might try to act as if they were conducting the visual or technical ticket check, with the aim of stealing tickets during such controls.

"Supporters should therefore make sure they only show tickets at clearly marked check zones and not to individuals or small groups of people who could be wearing fake bibs & might approach them on the way to the stadium, outside of the official check zones."
