Warning for Dennistoun residents after needle found in grounds at Whitehill Secondary School

A warning has been issued to Dennistoun residents after what appears to be a used needle was discovered in grounds near Whitehill Secondary School.

Rachel Hughes took to Facebook on Saturday to alert neighbours with potential fears for children playing and dogs walking in the area.

The needle was safely disposed of by the school janitor after he was notified of it.

Rachel told Glasgow Live she found the needle heading past the school on the walkway towards the local nursery.

She had posted on Facebook: "Be aware everyone I found this needle on the grass in full view at Whitehill School, bloody ridiculous."

The school, on Onslow Drive, has been temporarily closed to pupils on account of the coronavirus lockdown.
