Warning for bike thug jumping victims from behind and scraping faces in frightening Dublin attack

A warning has been issued to locals to be wary of their surroundings and not to walk alone after one person was jumped from behind by a bike thug in Dublin City.

The criminal approached the victim from behind as they were on their way home from work, scraping the person's face before stealing their phone.

The sickening thief fled the scene on a bike with the victim now fearing that the thug will sell the Samsung phone which has precious memories on it.

Information about the attack was posted on their Facebook page with Gardai now looking into the incident also.

They said: "On my way home from work this evening and some thug came up behind me and grabbed my phone out of my hand on Blessington Street.

"He scraped my face and then took off on a bike down Eccles Street towards the Mater Hospital.

"If anyone hears of anyone selling a Samsung galaxy A71 please let us know because all my photos are on it.

"Please just be careful out there especially if you are walking alone."
