Warning as man seen 'acting suspiciously' near nursery and school

Police are investigating reports of a man behaving suspiciously near a nursery and school.

Advice is being offered in nearby schools in Crosby after officers received reports of "suspicious behaviour".

The force said at about 3.45pm, as many children would be leaving school, on Thursday, January 21, it was reported a man was seen on a number of occasions outside St Luke's School, on Cooks Road, and Streatham House Nursery.

The man is not believed to have approached anyone.

Concerned parents have shared information with the ECHO about the suspect, with some urging those travelling to school to "be vigilant".

The ECHO has approached St Luke's School for further informaton.

Detective Inspector Cat Walsh said: “Advice has been offered to schools in the area in relation to these reported incidents and high visibility patrols have been stepped up to offer reassurance.

“At this stage, it is not believed any offences have been committed however we understand the concern this may cause for children, parents, guardians, teachers and local residents.

"I would like to reassure the local communities that we take reports such as this very seriously and a number of enquiries are being carried out to establish the full circumstances.
