South Dublin locals have been warned to remain vigilant and keep their doors locked during the darker days following reports of frightening activity in the area.
A dangerous masked thug has been targeting and terrorising residents in the Tallaght and Kilnamanagh areas in a spate of frightening break-in incidents this week.
Just last night, the criminal struck again when a private house in Tamarisk Park was broken into just before 6pm.
It is understood that a white transit van and a dark car were spotted acting suspiciously in the area just minutes before the terrifying attack.
A message sent around to locals said: "The vehicles were spotted on CCTV on many different roads before and after the attack.
"The guy was spotted jumping the back wall after the burglary with his face covered with a mask.
"All information has been passed on to Tallaght Garda station. Please be extra vigilant and look out for your neighbours."
In north and west Dublin, residents have been warned to keep an eye out for a gang of girls who are using a sneaky new method as part of attacks on people's homes.
There has been various different local complaints about the group, consisting of three young teen girls, who are said to be monitoring houses as possible break-in targets.
It is understood that the trio are hanging around areas in Clonsilla, Blanchardstown and Coolmine but are telling locals in the area that they're from Meath.
Residents have said that when they quizzed the girls, they told them that they wanted to use the bathroom in the house as their reasons for looking inside before running away from the property.
The sick group are said to be targeting old people especially with the trick.
