Warning after fire rips through Kingswood bedroom

A dramatic photograph of a charred bed has emerged after a blaze ripped through a Kingswood bedroom.

Temple Fire Station shared the image on social media with a warning to people to check their fire alarms.

Crisp books lie on top of a blackened duvet in the room.

Thankfully no one was injured during the blaze in Walnut Crescent yesterday (April 1).

Crews from Hicks Gate and Temple fire stations were called to the incident at 10.41am.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival, two firefighters in breathing apparatus used two high-pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire.

"They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.

"The cause is thought to be accidental and crews remained on scene to deliver fire safety advice to neighbouring properties. "

Temple Fire Station tweeted: "Bedroom fire this morning for Blue watch, backing up Hicks Gate.

"Two breathing apparatus and a hose reel used. No injuries thankfully. Remember, check your smoke alarms."
