Car with 'dangerous' medication inside stolen

A car with vital medication in was stolen from a house this morning.

Police are appealing for people to be 'cautious' after a car with medication in was reported stolen in the early hours of today (Tuesday, January 11).

Officers received a report that at around 5.30am a grey Volkswagen Tiguan containing a 10ml syringe of Buccal Midazolam had been taken from Northern Perimeter Road, Bootle.

Buccal Midazolam is a controlled drug for people with epilepsy.

Officers are now reminding people that taking any medication which has not been prescribed to them can be dangerous and in some cases can prove fatal.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Merseyside Police is appealing for the public to be cautious after medication was reported to have been stolen along with a car in Bootle in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 11 th January).

"Officers received a report that at around 5.30am a grey VW Tiguan containing a 10 ml syringe of Buccal Midazolam, a controlled drug for people with epilepsy, had been taken close to the Northern Perimeter Road.

"Officers are reminding people that taking any medication which has not been prescribed for them can be dangerous and in some cases can prove fatal."

Anyone who finds any of the medication is asked to hand it into any pharmacy or police station or call officers on the 101 number.

Anyone who recognises the car, or has information in relation to this offence is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
