Mattiese Loretan will feature in her final match for Warners Bay on Saturday before heading to the United States to play college football.

The 19-year-old Panthers striker is headed to Laramie County Community College in Wyoming.

Loretan broke into first grade last Newcastle Herald Women's Premier League season and has scored five goals this campaign.

Fifth-placed Warners Bay (22 points) head to Taree this weekend for an important Saturday-Sunday double-header with Mid Coast (4). The Saturday match is a rescheduled round-three fixture.

The Panthers snapped a four-match losing streak with a 5-1 win over last-placed New Lambton (3) on Sunday. It kept them in touch with third-placed Adamstown (25) and Maitland (24) in fourth. Rosebud and the Magpies face each other at Cooks Square Park on Sunday.

Rd 17: Fri: Azzurri v Magic (8pm); Sat: New Lambton v Olympic (3.40pm); Sun: Maitland v Adamstown (3.40pm); Mid Coast v Warners Bay (3.40pm).

**Charlestown coach Niko Papaspiropoulos is not ready to admit season defeat yet with five games remaining for the sixth-placed side.

Azzurri's top-four hopes were dealt a big blow after losing 3-2 to the Eagles last Wednesday then 5-1 to Maitland on Saturday. It left them on 18 points, six adrift of the top four.

They are up against league leaders Broadmeadow (40) at Lisle Carr Oval on Friday night. Then they play Adamstown, Warners Bay, Olympic (39) and New Lambton.

"It's very simple: we have to win five from five," Papaspiropoulos said.

"It's tough, but it's not impossible. Obviously, it's not an easy ask, but it doesn't mean we're done. It just means we have to play really well."

"We know we can be a lot better and, when you're competing for top four, you've got to be better."
